Jack White’s rarest recording, a cover of Blondie’s “One Way or Another” has been discovered.

Third Man Records co-founder Ben Blackwell wrote an essay on the value of tapes in the modern age in honor of “Cassette week”. Yes CASSETTE TAPES!

Blackwell thinks cassettes will be the “New 45’s”. At the end of the article, reveals one of the rarest pieces of his personal collection: a 1997 recording of Jack White singing on a cover of Blondie’s “One Way or Another” YES! It was recorded by 400 Pounds of Punk. Jack White served as engineer on the project, while also splitting lead vocal duties on “One Way or Another”.

 

Jack White just announced a show at the Aragon for November 19! Show time 7:30pm. Doors at 6:00pm. General admission tickets ($69.50) go on sale this Friday, October 12 at 11:00am and will be available at Ticketmaster.com. 17 & Older. There will be a strictly-enforced 4-ticket limit.
