Airplane coffee is a flight risk

You might want to get your coffee inside the airport before your flight instead of getting in on the plane. A new airline food study says we travelers should probably avoid the water airplanes use while flying.  While there are no reports of anyone getting sick from airplane coffee, the EPA says disease-causing pathogens might be in 15 percent of commercial airplane water.

As Today.com notes, “the water you drink is only as clean as the hoses and tanks used to transport and store it.” And you might be unhappy to learn that disinfection and flushing are only required 1-4 times a year.

The experts say to stick with canned or bottled beverages if you want to minimize risk. You can always get coffee when you land.
