Adam Sandler hosting SNL for the first time

Saturday Night Live being a comedy institution has pumped legendary comedy stars from Chris Farley to Will Ferrell, and most of these stars who first break out as a cast members on the show go on to big careers in other TV shows or movies, to triumphantly return as a host. For whatever reason, treasured American smart ass Adam Sandler has not done this since he left the show for a long movie career and a recent return to the stage for live stand up comedy until now.

Before he launches his 100% Fresher live tour this summer, Sandler will host SNL on NBC on May 4th. So scroll below to look back at some of his funniest sketches and performance during his time on the cast in the 90’s.

Here is my personal favorite from 1993, Sandler plays a talk show host who uses his entire show to agonize over his ex-girlfriend, Denise who was played over the phone by ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ star Shannon Doherty.
