Wait, ‘Storm Area 51’ was a joke!? Who knew

After avoiding being interviewed, Matty Roberts has come forward as the author of the event page ” Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us.”

The key thing to take away from his “coming out” is how he stated this was all a joke.

He told KLAS-TV about how he got the inspiration from a Joe Rogan podcast with Bob Lazar, a man who claims he’s worked at Area 51.

Roberts insisted the Facebook page was only satirical, and that it would be a funny idea for a meme page. He only came forward out of fear, thinking the FBI would come question him after millions of UFO conspiracy theory fans signed up for the event.

This is a prime example of how you have to be careful about what you put out there on the internet.
