Blackhawks: Corey Crawford out of action with appendicitis

cut-1

Bad News Hawks fan, the Crow is down.

Crawford got sick following the Hawks recent loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, and was taken to a hospital.  “Corey presented this morning with acute appendicitis. He is undergoing an appendectomy today at a Philadelphia hospital. We are anticipating a full recovery and return to play. We will provide details regarding the timeline of his return after we have more information about the surgery.” said team physician Dr. Michael Terry in a post on the Hawks official website.

Currently there is no announced timetable for his return. The ever-reliable Scott Darling will take the goalie duties as the Hawks continue to lead the Western division in the NHL.

This may seem bad for Crawford and the Hawks considering that Johnathan Toews is also dealing with a back injury as well. At least this Crawford injury is not similar to the one he endured in 2014 at a Rise Against show at the House of Blues, that one scared us during that playoff run remember?

Get well soon, Corey! GO HAWKS!
