Today is Election Day!

Today is the big day, Election Day!  And I am so happy to read that early voting is up 96% from the midterm election in 2014, according to a news release from the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners and voting by mail broke records!  What a great time to be a part of the democratic process!!  SO if you haven’t done so already…

GET OUT AND MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT!

Here is some pertinent info for you:

Uber and Lyft are offering free rides to get you to the polls tomorrow!  A new button will appear in the app on Nov. 6. The new function will allow users to find their polling place and book a ride to go vote free of charge, funded by Uber, Lyft and the non-profit groups #VoteTogether and Democracy Works.

Where do I go to cast my ballot?  Am I registered?  Can I review my sample ballot?

The answers to those questions and more lie at Chicagoelections.com.

If you’ve moved, gotten married or changed your name since the last election; you need to update your registration.  Also, double check your polling location, mine changed for the first time in 4 years.  You can type in your address to see if you are registered and where to vote or change your address HERE.

YOU CAN REGISTER TO VOTE AT YOUR PRECINCT POLLING PLACE TODAY!!  Make sure you have two forms of ID, one with your current address.

What exactly am I voting for?  Is a great question, and BallotReady.com is an amazing free and non-partisan resource to help you.  Just put in your address and they explain every candidate and referendum, you can even fill out a sample ballot to email or print out and bring with you to the polls!

I love the breakdown WBEZ did on the election HERE.

Last step, TALK to your friends and family!  Make sure they are registered to vote and encourage them TO DO IT!

GET OUT AND VOTE ILLINOIS!!  We are all in this together.
