Junk computer equipment gets new life: playing alternative tunes.

If you ever had a computer with floppy drives, bleepy modems, and bulky old accessories, then you know how much noise they made.

One guy has made his mission to turn that cacophony….into popular alternative tunes.

A Polish engineer has created the Floppotron — 64 floppy drives, 8 hard drives, and a pair of flatbed scanners that can be programmed to play popular music.  And if you are interested in how this all works, feel free to read up on it more in this article from Mental Floss.

In the meantime, enjoy some pretty spot on covers from Blur, The Offspring, Nirvana, Green Day, and Foo Fighters below.  — [eric]
