This is either the BEST or WORST cover of “Bittersweet Symphony” ever made.

For a complicated reason that Pitchfork will dive into for you, The Rolling Stones used to get 100% of the songwriting royalties every time The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” played.  Not any more.

After all these years, Keith and Mick reversed course and decided to give that right to Richard Ashcroft, the songwriter and lead singer of the band.  💰💰💰

On a related note: this is either the best or worst cover of “Bittersweet Symphony” ever made.  Compare it to the original music video and decide for yourself.  My head hurts and I can’t do it.    — [eric]
