Yeah, this is so cool. Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters are playing a festival together. The not cool part is that it’s not in Chicago. Both these legendary awesome bands will play the Boston Calling Fest in Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, Massachusetts on Memorial Day weekend, May 22-24, 2020. This is the first major festiva headliner announcement for 2020 so maybe this means both bands could be hitting fests or bigger shows closer to us.
The Peppers and the Foos toured together before in 1999 while both bands were coming off big hit albums. Based on this MTV special from the tour, it looks like both bands enjoyed goofing around with each other quite a bit.
