Adam Sandler makes us laugh and cry on SNL return

He came to national fame on Saturday Night Live as a cast member and went on to big success in movies, so Adam Sandler returning to the comedy institution as a host felt like a big deal last night. He opened the show with a fun ditty about being “fired” from the show as a cast member but how he won with his post-SNL career with a cameo from Chris Rock. Longtime fans got to see Sandler revive his classic Weekend Update character Opera Man with a modern run of jokes at modern day news and politics. The most moving portion was his performance of his tribute to the late great Chris Farley in song. It made me tear up watching it.
