“The Empire Strikes Back” tops box office again, 40 years after initial release.

The Empire Strikes Back has topped the box office for the first time since its reissue in 1997 and 40 years after the Star Wars movie was originally released.

As Deadline reports, a bunch of old school movies are pulling in about a half million dollars on a given weekend.  And when we say classics, we mean GhostbustersJaws…& Jurrasic Park, among others.

Speaking of going old school, the popularity of drive-ins has returned as the most feasible way to enjoy the cinema right now.  If you’re up for a movie in Chicago, the South Lot at Soldier Field has been turned into a makeshift theater — show times and ticket information can be found here.  — [eric]
