Watch Chad Smith’s daughter try out for American Idol

File this under “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Ava Maybee is the daughter of Chad Smith, who is of course the drummer for Red Hot Chili Peppers, and she recently tried out for American Idol. Although I was slightly disappointed she didn’t perform a RHCP tune like “Under the Bridge” or “Pea”, she does have a beautiful voice. Check out her audition below and see if she qualified for the next round.
