Billy Corgan is all about Chicago — and he is the surprise owner of an iconic neon sign from the city’s history.

The Orange Garden “Chop Suey” neon has stood over Irving Park Rd. for decades — and after announcing the restaurant was being sold, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman will preserve the sign in his Highland Park tea shop.

Block Club Chicago has the story on why the sign means so much to Corgan and how a trip to the Cubs game was the catalyst for its purchase.
